Welcome to another episode of The Coach’s Circle Podcast!
Our show is all about showing you everything the world of coaching has to offer–what it is, what it isn’t, and whether it might be the right career choice for you.
Through our conversations with professionals in a variety of different mental health and wellness fields, you’ll gain valuable, real-world insight into their careers and consider how their experiences might impact your own career choices. Our interviews will feature coaches, therapists, counselors, personal trainers, and other professionals who incorporate coaching into their practices. Our hope is that these varied perspectives will help you come to understand exactly the type of coach you were meant to be.
Today’s special guest is Sharon Lawrence, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the owner of Selah Wellness & Therapeutic Services in Largo, Maryland.

Notable Quote
“This has been my focus: making sure that people are taking care of themselves. Making sure that they learn that they are a priority. Understanding that what they do for themselves matters. How you treat yourself teaches other people how to treat you. […] What I learned is that when you cancel your own stuff, or when you tell people, “Oh, I can wait to do that. What do you need?” you tell them that they are the priority. […] I’ve been teaching how to set those boundaries and to make sure that they keep lines, like when you’re driving down the road. The rule is you don’t cross over that.”
